Using empty bottles collect items from around the house, pasta, rice, buttons, lentils anything of different size, shapes and colour. Allow the children to help you fill the bottles using thumbs and forefingers. This is an excellent activity to support hand eye coordination, fine motor skills, sensory play and expression through music and movement. You will be creating curiosity though observing the movements, sounds, colours and shapes of the objects in the bottle as well as expression though movement, slow and soft sounds, fast and loud sounds. This activity provides lots of opportunity for new language and talk as you create with all ages by describing what you are using, the steps to follow as you create them and the music and songs you create as you play with these. Have fun!
